Lickety Turns

Brief

Licketyspit, a child-centred theatre company based in Scotland, commissioned me to create a 6 minute instrumental piece, including musical sfx, for a short recorded dance performance targeted towards early years audiences.

Response

As Andre had already free-styled and recorded the piece without music when I was brought on board, I very much had to compose around what was already there. This, challengingly, meant I was composing to movement that has no strict time or tempo to it, and as such I had to create a changing time signature and tempo throughout the piece to match.
